Woah, so much fun with this! I had my expectations set high when came up with the idea (about an hour after receiving word of the commission)
I've just had this one end result stuck in my head and i've done my best to reach it. I have about 6 different versions and I started again from scratch twice.
Yes, i'd say this is the one commission that i've gotten really determined (or anal) about.

So, there is this commission i've been working on for a while... and I think it's about ready to be presented to the buyer(*Splendorous).... but, like always, I am worried that I missed something.

If you notice something that needs fixing, please let me know in LOTS of detail. At least a paragraph for each thing, and links to reff images or tutorials if necessary.

Splendor Commission by =ninykinin "The first thing that you notice about this piece is all of the fantastic colours that really make it 'pop'. The close crop and eye contact are hugely engaging really draw your eye on. What I love most are those fiery peacock feather patterns which are subtly included in the image." This piece was suggested by more than one deviant. (Suggested by =Poppet-Pictures and Featured by ^Katmomma)

I like this :)

I have no idea how you to do anything remotely like it, but i'd like to say a few things, since you seem like the type who likes criticism.

The overall blend of colors is good and it's attractive and apealing to the eye. But i found that the left side of the artwork, the side with the cool colors, is a bit too blurry. it's not neccessarily blurry, but it does not have the sharpness found on the right side with the warm colors. The fur/feathers/hair on the left side looks as if it was made in a hurry, or at least not as detailed as the right side. What I would do is try to sharpen the left side.

The neck area would also look better if more defined.

I hope i helped a bit.

Great work

Oh, thank you so much. I certainly wouldn't have picked that out myself because I spent so long trying to get it to curve right that I hadn't questioned it later. :XD:

Thanks, i'll add in some subtle hairs and highlights up there, that should do the trick :3

I freaking love it, basically.

The only criticism I can give is the area just under the feather, where the other eyes would be. Since there's no real hint of the eye it seems to me that the area should be darker... or if you dont want to deepen the shadow, that there should at least be some hint that the other eyes really is under there, even if its just the black marking showing a bit (like on the other eye)

of course A) its personal preference and it looks totally badass even if you leave it just the way it is and B) I wok eup ten minutes ago and theres a chance I'm seeing things =)

Niiiiiiiiice looking good!:D

I think I rambled enough in the note I sent you. xD I hope you know just how much I  this.

I believe the tails are what I can't get enough of. The "eyes" look so real and the other colors are vibrant and equally realistic. I really wasn't too sure if they would be very appealing, the whole shuving peacock-like tails on a fox, but you've made them, and Splendor herself, look absolutely wonderful.

I'm so glad you came up with this idea, to make a portrait of her rather than something more fullbody. It's gorgeous and kind of mystical looking, in my opinion.

I could go on and on and on... I'm just so very pleased.

I encourage you guys to commission Niny, seriously. You'll more than likely get much more than you're expecting and she's obviously extremely talented and hardworking. I can tell you from personal experience she's also one of the most friendly, easy to work with artists you'll ever find and she comes up with beautiful ideas, like this.

Browsing around I fell onto this lovely piece of art and I am amazed.
I love the overall look and the darkness and light affects on this beautifull piece.
If you ask for tips tough, it may merely be a matter of taste.
Alot of things are smudged and equalised nicely, but some lines, such as the muzzle, stand out firmly across the rest of the image.
Perhaps smudging those obvieus lines a bit to make them blend in a bit would give this a more soft look.
But as stated before this is merely a matter of taste, some people prefer clear contrastic lines ^^
